I really enjoy books by Sarah Sundin because they are usually set during World War II. She does an excellent job of bringing out the humanity in the characters and situations they find themselves in. She also does an amazing job of writing about difficult topics with compassion. In some ways, I could feel the heart of the characters jumping off the page. This book is no exception. I normally find historical books to read slow but the chapters in this book are short and help it feel like a faster read. The author has included quite a bit of mystery and intrigue which also helps it feel like a faster read. This book is a must read for those who love historical fiction with some romance weaved in.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. The opinions in this review are my own.
