I have read several books by this author. I am a big fan of books set in North Carolina and a lot of her books are set there including this one. This novel was so good. It really drew me in from the very beginning and I honestly cannot pick a favorite character because I loved them all. One of my favorite parts of the book was the whole shells with quotes and/or sayings in them. I just loved not only how people found them when they needed them most but some of the things written in them were so good. Another thing that I really enjoyed in the book was the parrot. The parts with the parrot made me laugh so hard. I would recommend that when reading this book, you have a box of tissues beside you just in case because there are some heartfelt moments that may make you tear up. The author did such an amazing job of bringing this novel to life. I felt as though I was in the story instead of just reading it. I fell in love with everything about this book and I am really looking forward to reading the next one in this series.
