Review of “When the Road Comes Around” by Katie Powner

This author is on my list of go-to contemporary fiction authors. It is interesting that while majority of this novel is written in third person, every once and awhile there is a chapter written in first person from the point of view of Sam. Her books usually have some kind of life lesson you can take away from it. I like how Anita Wilson prayed for her guests that came to stay at the Come Around Ranch before they arrived. All the characters in this book are so well-written and interesting that I find this novel hard to put down. I was a little disappointed by the ending. I really wanted to know more of what happened to several of the characters. This is one of those books where an epilogue would have been good. It could have been for years later and told a little bit of the future for each person. But even with the disappointing ending, I would still highly recommend this book.

Review of “Trusting the Amish Farmer” by Laurel Blount

This is one of my go-to authors. I really find her books enjoyable. Jeremiah Weaver has an issue that he initially does not want Anna Speicher to know about when he goes to offer to rent her farm. I felt so bad for him when it came to this issue because you could tell that he was embarrassed by it. I thought that this story had such compassion written into it. I loved reading the journey of the relationship between Anna and Jeremiah. It was such a sweet enduring story. I definitely recommend this novel.

Review of “The Soldier’s K-9 Companion” by Belle Calhoune

I have read several books by this author and she is one of my favorite romance authors. I love all the characters in this book and I do not think I could pick a favorite. There are several of them that I hope will become main characters in future books. I could see myself visiting Serenity Peak and going into Humbled for a coffee while browsing the books. I loved that the K9 that Luke received was named Java. I really enjoyed reading this book and I definitely recommend it.

Review of “Perilous Tides” by Elizabeth Goddard

I am a big fan of this author and I read the first book in this series. You do not have to have read the first in the series to read this one and enjoy it. This book starts right away with mystery and suspense which only grows the longer you read. It also has a lot of twists and turns. The dynamics between the main characters was well-written. I definitely recommend this book.
