Review of “When the Silence Breaks” by Elizabeth Goddard

This is one of my go-to romantic suspense authors. This is the first book in a new series called Mercy Ridge which is the name of the town this book takes place. This novel had not only the suspense that you would expect from this author but it had a lot of mystery to it as well. There were a lot of twists and turns within this novel. I did not realize who the bad guy really was until they told me. The main characters start out as strangers but slowly become more. I really enjoyed reading their interactions throughout the novel. I feel like the brother of the main male character will be the main character in the next book in this series. However, do not worry this novel does not leave a cliffhanger at the end. I definitely recommend this book.

Review of “Bookmarked for Love” by Sarah Monzon

This is the third book in the Checking Out Love series but it is the first book I have read by this author. I did not feel lost while reading this book even though I have not read the first two in the series. I like that the main characters in this book are older than what I would consider typical for a romance that is not a second chance one. I also loved that the Martha Aldridge is not a skinny mini lady. She has an amazing quick wit and makes for a great main female character. Several parts of this novel made me literally laugh out loud. I throughly enjoyed the interactions between Martha and the main male character, Julien King. I would definitely recommend this book.
