Review of “Shipwrecked Faith” by Danielle Grandinetti

This is the first book I have read by this author. It is also the first book in the Dawning Sisters series. The book started out reading a little slow but quickly sped up. I love how the relationship between Sadie and Kellan mirrors the relationship between God and man in that she does not see him for his past. I thought it was interesting that the author used the name of real mobsters in this book even though main or secondary characters. I felt so bad for Marjorie, the sister of Sadie, because Eugene was definitely not who she thought he was. She was a secondary character in the story though at times it seemed like she was a main character. This leads me to believe she will be the main character in the next book in the series. This book was really well written. I highly recommend it.

Review of “A Mother’s Prayer” by Chris Maday Schmidt

This is the second book I have read by this author. It is the third book in the Sweetwater, Arizona series. You do not have to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one. This novel has all the things that make a story so good. The main characters are great and their banter is so well-written. They balance each other out so well. There are two sweet kids along with an adorable dog. The secondary characters are so good and as I always say those are the characters that make a story go from good to great. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book!

Review of “A Brewed Awakening” by Pepper Basham

I have read several books by this author and enjoyed them which is one of a few reasons I wanted to read this book. I also loved the cover of the book and the fact that it is set in western North Carolina. I definitely am on the side of the main male character in this novel when it comes to tea versus coffee. However, I really enjoyed both the male and female main characters. Their interactions from the beginning of the novel to the very end really drew me into the story and had me rooting for them. This novel had the best secondary characters as well to the point where I cannot pick a favorite. I wish this book would have a sequel because it was just that good. I absolutely recommend it!

Review of “The Sheriff’s Secret Past” by Tina Radcliffe

This is the third book I have read by this author and the second romance. The main characters, Emily and Chase, in this novel knew each other twelve years prior to the start of this novel when Emily came to town to be an intern at the local newspaper. A lot has happened in the life of Chase since then. This novel has so many things going for it. It has a really cute dog and an adorable little girl who has been through so much. Also I almost always feel like you can tell if a book is good by the secondary characters and this story had some really great ones. The interactions between the main characters are so well written. I really enjoyed their banter. I highly recommend this novel.

Review of “Home No Matter Where” by Nancy Naigle

This is the third novel in the Shell Collector series. There is also a short novella that is between the second and third book. This author is a must read for me and this series is an absolute masterpiece. This book was a fast read for three reasons. One reason was how well written it was, another reason was the short chapters, and lastly the characters make this story read quickly. I loved that this book encompassed so many things that I love about North Carolina. It had the beach, the mountains, and one of my favorite tourist attractions all mentioned. I would have loved for more of this novel because it was so good. You are definitely going to want a box of tissues by your side while reading it. I highly recommend it.
