Review of “Written in Secret” by Crystal Caudill

This is the first book I have read by this author. The main characters in this novel are Lydia Pelton and Abraham Hall. Even though some serious things happen in this story, there are some funny parts with the main female character and her quick wit. I really enjoy figuring out puzzles and mysteries so that was one reason I found this book to be intriguing. The main mystery plot in this book was pretty original which also drew me into the story. I will say that the author did an excellent job of making this one hard mystery to solve. The book was not too gory for me even though there was murder in it which I appreciated. I am not a big fan of gore and the author did a great job of describing things without making it more detailed than it really needed to be to get the point across. Overall, I would say this was a great read and I would definitely recommend it.

Review of “Storm Warning” by Elizabeth Goddard

I have read several books by this author and her books are on my must read list. This novel is the first in a new series called Hidden Bay. It does not take long to figure out how the prologue fits into the story nor does it take long for the suspense and mystery to begin. I think that the author did an amazing job of writing her two main characters. They complement each other really well. I also think that the suspense and mystery in this plot builds at a good pace. I found myself not wanting to put the book down. There were several really good twists and turns in this book. The suspense and action lasted to almost the end of the story. I would definitely recommend this one.

Review of “The Farmer’s Marriage Bargain” by Heidi Main

I have read several books by this author. She is on my list of authors that I will read even without reading what the books are about. This is a marriage of convenience plot, but the reason is unique. I do not think I have read a marriage of convenience novel where the reason was for insurance purposes. I also thought it interesting the reasons that both characters had for not wanting to get married for love in the future so it made the marriage of convenience not as big of a deal for them. I thought the three year old triplets were adorable and added a lot of great parts to this novel. Overall, this book was a well-written romance that I would one hundred percent recommend.

Review of “Wyoming Ranch Sabotage” by Kellie VanHorn

I have read several books by this author and I have enjoyed them all. This novel was no exception. I really enjoyed this one as well. The main characters in this book are Sadie Madsen and Jesse Taylor. At the beginning of the novel, you find out that Jesse is Sadie’s ex-fiancée. Throughout the beginning, you are told why they split up which helps to understand their current feelings towards each other. I thought the author did a great job of tying everything together to where I was able to figure out part of who was the villain before being told. This novel was a well written suspense that did not have one boring part in it. I would definitely recommend it.

Review of “The Pastor’s Hope” by Meghann Whistler

I have read several books by this author and I have liked them all so far which is why I was interested to read this one. You will recognize some of the secondary characters in the novel if you have read some of the author’s other books. The main characters in this novel are Nate Anderson and Amanda Kobayashi. Both of them have lost their spouse before the novel starts and I think it adds an interesting element to how they interact which I really enjoyed. Another thing that I really enjoyed about this story was Amanda’s daughter, Ivy, because she was just so cute. I really liked how the author wrote the way Ivy talked because you could definitely tell she was a little girl. This book was so good. I highly recommend it.
