Review of “A View Most Glorious” by Regina Scott

This is the third book in the American Wonders Collection series. The main female character, Coraline Baxter, is a suffragette which I find very interesting. I thought it was a very intriguing concept that to garner attention and support for the local suffragette movement, Cora is going to climb a mountain. She is also hoping to not have to marry her mother’s choice for her. The other main character, Nathan Hardee, is also very intriguing. He has a sad but interesting back story. I also like that he does not try to be someone he is not to please people. He is going to be guiding Coraline up a mountain. This novel also has several really good supporting characters. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book.

Review of “Blood from a Stone” by David James Warren

This is book number five of six in the “True Lies of Rembrandt Stone” series. This is definitely a series that you will want to read in order otherwise you will be completely lost. When this book starts, Rembrandt is in the past trying to figure out how to undo all the things he previously changed. This book is so good. As soon as you have an idea of what might happen, the author throws you a curveball. The suspense and mystery of this plot is a twenty on a scale of one to ten. I highly recommend this book.

Review of “A Christmas in the Alps” by Melody Carlson

I had high expectations for this book because it is a Christmas book by Melody Carlson. I was really excited to read it. I was not disappointed at all. This is a great heart warming novel in which I find myself enjoying the characters even the ones that you know would aggravate you in real life because they bring dimension to the storyline. It also has some mystery to the story adding to the already great plot. The only thing that I wish was that the book was a full novel instead of just a novella.

Review of “A Chance for the Newcomer” by Lisa Carter

I have only read a few books by Lisa Carter so far but I will definitely say I have put her on my must read list. This book did not disappoint and not just because it is set in the mountains of North Carolina either. Kara Lockwood and Will McKenzie both have pasts that they need to come to terms with and leave in the past. Both of these characters will grab at your heart and have you rooting for them to finally open up their eyes to see they should be together. Also, Will’s dad and son as well as Kara’s foster mom make for some amazing secondary characters. This book had my attention from the beginning to the end.

Review of “Hostile Intent” by Lynette Eason

Hostile Intent is the fourth book in Lynette Eason’s Danger Never Sleeps series. It is not necessary to have read the first three in order to enjoy this book. I found the very beginning to be somewhat confusing even though I had read the other books in the series. However, as I read a few more pages into the book, the events started to fall into place and the the plot thickened. One of the main characters, Ava Jackson, finds herself working with FBI Special Agent Caden Denning to uncover the mysteries revealed in the story. Lynette Eason does an excellent job connecting the reader to the characters. It is definitely a page turner and one mystery lovers will not want to miss.
