I found out about this book from social media because I follow a lot of authors and fellow book bloggers. I have always been interested in World War II so I was looking forward to reading this book. I was especially intrigued by the fact that at one point in the book, the three main characters end up dining with Hitler himself. I was very impressed with how well the author wrote that part of the book. She did a great job of conveying how the main characters felt repulsed by being not only in Hitler’s house but even more by the man himself. This book was so well written that I had to remind myself that it was fictional. I would definitely read another novel by this author.
Review of “Standoff” by Patricia Bradley
This is the first in Patricia Bradley’s “Natchez Trace Park Rangers” series and it is also the first book I’ve read by this author. This book was definitely heavier on the suspense than the romance to me. I thought that Patricia Bradley did a good job of developing her characters in this novel as well as making several people look like they could be the guilty party. Though some say that she made it obvious who the bad guy was from too early in the book, I felt like she did throw some things in that made it so you could have questioned it a little. Of course for me personally, I do not mind if a can easily figure out who did it early on in the book. It does not take the joy of reading the book away from me. So if you enjoy reading books that are suspenseful whether or not you can tell who the villain is early on, then I would say this book is for you. I will definitely be reading more books by Patricia Bradley.

Review of “The Heart of a Hero” by Susan May Warren
This is the second in the “Global Search and Rescue” series. The first one was “The Way of the Brave” which I also wrote a review on. These books are one of those series that you definitely want to read in order because they are the same characters from book to book even though the main characters switch between the group of friends. So I have to say that I really enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to this one; however, I didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. I knew that I would like it but I didn’t just like it, I loved it! This book had so much action in it! Susan May Warren did an amazing job of developing the characters and the plot in this book to the point where it was better than the first one. I am really wishing that the next one in the series was already available because I just want to know the rest of the story! I highly recommend this book to anyone!

Review of “The Curse of Misty Wayfair” by Jaime Jo Wright
Do you like solving puzzles? Are you in to “ghost” stories? Do you like books or movies about hauntings? If you said yes to any or all of these questions, then I feel good in saying you will like Jaime Jo Wright’s book, The Curse of Misty Wayfair. This book kept me on the edge of my seat all the way to the end. Even after I had things figured out for the most part, I still couldn’t get enough of this book. This novel is a split time book. I do not always like books like this because some authors have a hard time transitioning between years throughout their books and therefore they are hard to follow. However, I did not have that problem with this novel. Jaime Jo Wright does a great job of entwining not only the characters, but also the two different years. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to hopefully being able to read another one of Jaime Jo Wright’s books in the future.
Review of “The Solace of Water” by Elizabeth Byler Younts
When I first started this book I was afraid that the dialect in some chapters and the Pennsylvania Dutch in others was going to make this one slow read, but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t slow me down at all. If you think that you are the only one who has secrets or shows a facade to people while inside you’re dying of guilt, then this books will remind you of just how wrong you are about that. Everyone has something that they don’t want the average person to know about themselves or their situation. I highly recommend this book. It is such a good read. It reinforces the idea of forgiving others but even more the idea of forgiving yourself which is sometimes the hardest person to forgive.
