Review for “Hunted in the Wilderness” by Kellie VanHorn

This is the first book I have read by Kellie VanHorn. I have read wanted to read one of hers for awhile but had not gotten to one until now. The cover of this book really drew me in and had me wanting to read this novel. When you’re reading this story, you will realize just how well the cover conveys what this story is about even down to the man in the camera lens. The main female character, Haley Whitcombe, is very well written. With her celebrity like lifestyle, she is not anything like Ezra, the main male character, thought she would be. Ezra is also well written with a sad but compelling back story. It definitely has you rooting for a second chance at love for him. The way both Ezra and Haley interact definitely draws you into the story. And on top of the sweet romantic story, you also have an amazingly suspenseful plot going on. This book has it all.

Review of “Fatal Forensic Investigation” by Darlene L. Turner

I have read several books by Darlene L. Turner and so I was excited to read this one! The blurb for this book also drew me in. The suspense starts from the very beginning and keeps you interested until the very end. The romance for me definitely took a back seat in this particular plot which is not a bad thing since the novel is in the suspense category. There were several characters in this book that raised my suspicions. This was definitely a difficult puzzle to try to figure out. It had me stumped. I highly recommend this book to those who like suspense with a little bit of romance.

Review of “Fatal Code” by Natalie Walters

Fatal Code is the second book in the SNAP Agency series by Natalie Walters. Although you encounter many of the same characters from the first book, you do not have to have read the first book to enjoy this book. Walters does an amazing job developing both the main characters and the minor characters. As you get to know the characters, you will find some underlying humor. Their unique personalities are very captivating. The complexity of the plot appeals to those who enjoy suspense. This book is a fast read and extremely hard to put down. I would definitely recommend it.

Review of “Shadowed Loyalty” by Roseanna M. White

This book is set in the 1920s and the main female character is the daughter of a mobster boss. The action starts right at the very beginning of this novel and goes throughout the book. It is written in third person with some parts focusing on the main female character, Sabina, and others focusing on the main male character, Lorenzo. I was drawn to this book because of the time period it is set in as well as the cover. I also have read and enjoyed other books by this author so I thought this one would be good too. And it is a good novel. The author has a way with words that helps you not only imagine what is going on but you can also feel the emotions that the characters are feeling. I definitely find this book extremely intriguing and captivating.

Review of “Looking for Leroy” by Melody Carlson

I am a big fan of Melody Carlson and her books. I feel like most of the books I have read by Melody Carlson have main characters that seem to be in their mid twenties to early thirties; however, the main characters in this novel are around mid to late forties to early fifties, I believe. To me this gives the book a slightly different dynamic. This novel is written from both the point of view of the female main character and the male main character. The story also includes some interesting secondary characters. I sometimes find that a book is only really as good as these secondary characters. I feel as though if they do not entertain you, then you will not like the book. With that said, there are several secondary characters in this book that I find entertaining. One of those characters is Motorcycle Mike. He definitely adds some humor into this plot. Another one is Gina. She adds some no nonsense attitude to the story that is intriguing. Overall I think this book is well balanced in terms of humorous and more serious characters. I definitely recommend it.
