If she can climb Mount Rainier, he will bail out the bank. All Cora needs is a guide to get her to the top.
Nathan Hardee may look like a mountain man, but he once ruled the halls of high society. He left all that behind after his father broke under financial pressure from Kincaid. To best Kincaid now, Nathan agrees to guide Cora up the mountain.
Climbing Rainier will require all of Cora’s strength and will, and lead her and Nathan to rediscover their faith in God and humanity. These two loners make unlikely partners in righting a wrong and discover that only together is the view most glorious.

Review of “The Lady’s Second-Chance Suitor” by Regina Scott

This is the fifth book in the “Grace-by-the-Sea” series. This is definitely one of those series that you are going to want to read all of them and in order because it just isn’t as good if you do not have the background. Even if you have not read Regency novels before you will still like this book. As in the other four books, the author does such a good job of bringing her characters and their world to life. With each book, I feel like I am visiting old friends. I cannot wait to find out more about them in the next book of this series.

Review of “Present Danger” by Elizabeth Goddard

“Present Danger” is the first in a new series called “Rocky Mountain Courage”. In this novel, you will come to know where this series got its name and I really liked that part of this book. I am a big fan of books by Elizabeth Goddard. She always does an excellent job of bringing her characters and their world to life. This book is a romantic suspense and it definitely has a large amount of both throughout the entire thing. It also brings back some of her characters from her “Uncommon Justice” series of which I read the last two of the three. The good thing is that you do not have to have read that series but I will say it is also good. If you like puzzles and books that keep you on the edge of your seat then you’re going to love this one.

Review of “Unknown Threat” by Lynn H. Blackburn

This is the first book I have read by Lynn H. Blackburn and it is the first in a new series called “Defend and Protect”. I was so excited that within the first three pages I figured out that the book is set in Raleigh, North Carolina. I love books set in places in North Carolina but especially ones set somewhere I have not only been but know well. The main characters, Faith Malone and Luke Powell, even go to a restaurant that I really like called Relish, and Faith gets their Mac & Cheese which is so good. Do not worry this book is good for many other reasons such as the great characters and the suspenseful situations going on. This book keeps you at the edge of your seat until the very end. Also I love that the chapters are not really long which makes the book feel like it reads faster. And speaking of love, the romance in this book is done really well too. I am looking forward to the next one in this series.

Review of “Dreams Rekindled” by Amanda Cabot

This is the second book in the Mesquite Springs series. The first book in the series was “Out of the Embers”. While you will be able to read and enjoy this one without reading the first, I think it is much better if you read the first one since they do have some of the same characters. And while both books are labeled as historical romance, I find both have a little bit of mystery and intrigue in them which keeps you from wanting to put the book down. The mystery I have found in her books isn’t just of the romantic kind either. Amanda Cabot has a way of bringing her town and characters to life that leaves you feeling like you have visited with old friends and/or family. She is definitely being added to my must read her books list.
