Review of “A Texas Easter Blessing” by Mindy Obenhaus

This is one of my favorite authors. This is the third book in the Legacy Ranch series. There are many reasons I loved this book so much. One reason is it includes one of my favorite characters, Aunt Dee. Another reason is you get updates on the main characters from the previous two books in the series. There are several really good lessons to be learned from the book. One of those lessons is how your words can affect someone. Along with that lesson, another one is how far lies can spread especially when social media is used. This novel has the best characters in it. The secondary characters are so good that I forgot it even had primary characters. I recommend this book to everyone but you may need a box of tissues for a good cry because several parts will hit you in the heart.

Review of “Detecting Deadly Threats” by Carol J. Post

I have read a couple of books by this author and enjoyed them. The intrigue starts at the very beginning with the suspense not far behind. There are also some interesting twists and turns in this novel. I really enjoyed the secondary plot line of Zach trying to take care of his nephew, William. There was also a really sad part to this story that will pull at your heartstrings so be sure to have some tissues beside you in case you are a crier. I thought that the characters in this story were really well-written and that the plot flowed well. I did not figure out the mystery on my own but that did not take away from my enjoyment of the book. I definitely recommend this novel.

Review of “Scent of Sabotage” by Dana Mentink

I have read several books by this author and she is on my must read list. This book started out with the suspense beginning within the first two chapters. It also had a really good mystery that started in chapter two when the main male character has amnesia. I think it is really cool that the main characters in the novel are both older than a lot of books have them be. There were several twists and turns that made the book so good until the very end. I highly recommend this book.

Review of “Abducted in the Woods” by Kerry Johnson

I have read several books by this author and I have enjoyed all of them which was one reason I was interested in reading this novel. I was also excited to read it when I realized it was set at Christmas time. I also loved that my daughter’s name was in the book. The suspense and mystery start at the very beginning of this novel and take you to almost the very end. This was one of those hard to figure out mysteries so it kept my attention the entire time. It was well-written and well thought out. It had amazing secondary characters and I highly recommend it.

Review of “The Lighthouse at the Cove” by Amy Clipston

I really like this author which was one reason I was excited to read this novel. The other reason was that it is set in North Carolina. Even though this book is the second in a series, it reads like a stand-alone novel. This story revolves around Kaiah Ross and Reid Turner. I thought that the way they met was so cute and their interactions were so well-written. I also really enjoyed reading the parts between Kaiah and Reid’s daughter, Piper. His daughter’s energy reminded me of my daughter. There are also so many amazing secondary characters in this book. I would love it if the author wrote more with the characters. I highly recommend this novel!
