Review of “Winning Over the Baker” by Danielle Thorne
This is the first book I have read by this author. The cover alone drew me in enough to want to read it. I really enjoyed all the characters in this book and not just the primary ones. There were several parts of the book that really pulled at my heart strings. My heart ached for the daughter of the main male character because of all she had been through and the fact that she had a hard time realizing that things would be different now. I thought the book had some very good lessons that could be learned from it. I also felt it was very well written. I will definitely be adding this author to my list of go-to authors.

Review of “Missing in Texas” by Virginia Vaughan
I am a big fan of books by this author. I also really like books that are about cold cases so I was definitely interested in reading this book. I found it very interesting that the main female character was friends with the victim of the crime while the main male character is related to the prime suspect. It made for an interesting dynamic between the two while they were trying to solve the case. I really enjoyed the mystery behind also trying to solve the crime. This novel was well written and definitely one that I would recommend.

Review of “Kate Landry Has a Plan” by Rebekah Millet
I honestly did not read the blurb for the book before wanting to read it because I enjoyed the first one in the series so much I just knew I wanted to read this one too. I was so excited that the main character from the first book in the series made an appearance in this one. I was drawn in from the beginning because the main female character and I are about the same age. Also one of my favorite songs from when I was younger was mentioned in the very beginning of the novel. Kate’s ex-fiancee, Ryan, was a well-written jerk. And I loved all of Kate’s little sayings when she is frustrated. This book was hard to put down because it was such a great read!

Review of “An Unexpected Companion” by Mindy Obenhaus
I love books by this author. This novel is about widow Tessa Wagner, her two sons, and widower Dirk Matthews. One of the secondary characters is Tessa’s aunt, D’Lynn Hunt. I think she added a lot of great personality to the plot. I am excited to say that even though this novel is not set in Hope Crossing, the characters do go to the rodeo that was mentioned in the Hope Crossing series. I loved how much grace was shown in this book. I thought this novel did an excellent job of discussing grief and the loss of a loved one. It was such a great second chance at love book. I definitely recommend it!
