Review of “Escape to Whispering Creek” by Barbara M. Britton

This is the first book I have read by this author. This is a Romantic Christian Fiction novel. I was interested in reading this because the blurb on the back of the book sounded very interesting. This book felt very original to me. I loved all of the characters in this story. I really loved the dynamic between Wade and Emma. It was nice to see how she helped him go from grumpy to loving life again. I thought this story had all the emotions from amusement, sadness and down right happy. This book was one of those that was hard to put down. It kept my attention from the beginning to the end. I definitely recommend this novel.

Review of “An Unexpected Grace” by Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse

I have read several books by Tracie Peterson but this is my first book I have read by Kimberly Woodhouse. This is the third in the series called The Jewels of Kalispell. I have not read the first two books in the series. The good thing is you can read this one without having read the first two and you will not be lost. This book has so many good things about it including some great secondary characters. James St. John, Johanna’s brother-in-law, was so well-written that I wanted to jump into the book and give him a piece of my mind. This story grabbed my attention from the very beginning and kept it until the very end. I definitely recommend this book!

Review of “The Fire Chief’s Surprise” by Chris Maday Schmidt

This is the first book I have read by this author. While this is a love inspired romance, there was some mystery involved in the story. I thought that it was quite original of the author to make it so that the main male character has to get married in order to keep the son of his foster brother who was killed in an accident with his wife. I liked the town legend that is mentioned throughout the novel. I enjoyed reading about all the characters in this book and would love to read future books with these same characters. I could see myself living in Sweetwater. This book was such a great read. I would definitely recommend it.

Review of “Winning Over the Baker” by Danielle Thorne

This is the first book I have read by this author. The cover alone drew me in enough to want to read it. I really enjoyed all the characters in this book and not just the primary ones. There were several parts of the book that really pulled at my heart strings. My heart ached for the daughter of the main male character because of all she had been through and the fact that she had a hard time realizing that things would be different now. I thought the book had some very good lessons that could be learned from it. I also felt it was very well written. I will definitely be adding this author to my list of go-to authors.

Review of “Missing in Texas” by Virginia Vaughan

I am a big fan of books by this author.  I also really like books that are about cold cases so I was definitely interested in reading this book.  I found it very interesting that the main female character was friends with the victim of the crime while the main male character is related to the prime suspect.  It made for an interesting dynamic between the two while they were trying to solve the case.  I really enjoyed the mystery behind also trying to solve the crime.  This novel was well written and definitely one that I would recommend.
