Review of “An Orphan’s Hope” by Christina Miller

This is the second book I have read by Christina Miller. This story revolves around two main characters, Erin Tucker and Jase Armstrong. However, some of my favorite characters come from the family of secondary characters and these characters really seem like a family in this story. One of those characters that I love so much is Miss Fannie. Miss Fannie is being cared for by Erin. Jase also helps her out with different things. Both are living at Rosewood which is the house owned by Miss Fannie. She is such a sweet person. I find one of the best ways to decide if a book is good or not is whether characters like Miss Fannie are just as lovable as the main characters. This is definitely a book I would be happy to live in.

Review of “Undercurrent of Secrets” by Rachel Scott McDaniel

This is the second book by Rachel Scott McDaniel that I have read and I was not disappointed at all. The plot of the novel intrigued me which is why I ordered it. At the beginning of the book, I did not realize just how good the mystery was going to be. The author grabs your attention from the first page and keeps it all the way until the end. The setting of the majority of the story is also really cool because it is that of a steamboat. The two main couples are so interesting to read about. One couple being from the current time and one being of the past as this is a split-time novel. Also, how the past is connected to the present is a really cool puzzle. I definitely recommend this book.

Review of “To Treasure an Heiress” by Roseanna M. White

This is the second book in “The Secrets of the Isles” series and the second book I have read by this author. The main characters in this novel are Beth Tremayne and Lord Sheridan. Beth does not like Lord Sheridan in the beginning which makes for some very interesting interactions. How all the characters are connected also makes the story that much more intriguing. For example, Libby was supposed to get engaged to Lord Sheridan because her brother was trying to arrange it. Between those two things and the hunt for treasure, you will not be able to put this book down. A lot of times historical fiction will read slow for me but not so in this case. I felt like this book read quickly. If you love a good adventure novel with some romance thrown in, then this is the book for you.

Review of “Royally Engaged” by Jill Boyce

This is the second book in the Royal Medicine Series which is the second series by Jill Boyce.  This is one of those series that need to be read in order because otherwise you miss out on a lot.  In this novel, Claire is engaged to be married and working toward taking over the crown from her paternal grandmother.  Even though Claire, the main character, is royalty in this series, she is still very relatable.  Like most people, she worries about many things including whether she will be enough.  I also very much enjoy her maternal grandmother because she is on the odd side and does not care what other people think of her.  She makes this book humorous in all the right ways.

Review of “Life Flight” by Lynette Eason

I am a big fan of books by Lynette Eason and this is the first in a new series called Extreme Measures. It is a romantic suspense novel and it is definitely on suspense overload. Just when you think the criminal in this book cannot get anymore odd, something happens to let you know he is even more messed up than you think. This may not be the best book to read at night if you live alone. It will definitely have you double checking to be sure you locked your doors and set your house alarm. If you enjoy reading murder mysteries, then this book should definitely be on your to be read list. This is one of those novels that has you wondering how the author came up with the plot.
