Review of “Buried Grave Secrets” by Darlene L. Turner

I really like books by this author and this novel is no exception. There is so much suspense in this book that I do not know where to begin. It has possible mistaken identity, serial killer, an ex-boyfriend with his K-9 and horrible weather. It also seems that part of the main male character’s past is involved. It is a very intriguing puzzle to sort out. I thoroughly enjoyed trying to solve the case before it was told to me.

Review of “A Country Christmas” by Lisa Carter

I am a big fan of books by Lisa Carter.  I especially love this series because it is set in the North Carolina mountains in a town with the cutest name and tagline.  It takes place in a town called Truelove.  The two main characters are Kelsey Summerfield and Clay McKendry.  They are brought together by their grandparents to help plan their wedding.  I really enjoyed not only the banter between the main characters but I thought that their grandparents were just the sweetest.  They make me really miss my grandparents.  This novel definitely requires a box of tissues.  It will take you through all of the emotions.  I recommend it to anyone!

Review of “A Family for the Orphans” by Heidi Main

This is the first book I have read by this author. The adult main characters in this book are Walker McCaw and Trisha Campbell. There are also three children in this novel who seem like main characters to me because the story revolves around the adults taking care of them. The children lost their parents four months before. They are three, five and seven years old. They will grab at your heartstrings from the very first chapter. I love that this novel takes place on a horse farm and in a town named Serenity. Add in the grandfatherly man with several cute sounding dogs and you cannot help but fall in love with this plot. I recommend this book to anyone who likes community, family, animals, and a sweet love story.

Review of “Her Christmas Healing” by Mindy Obenhaus

I have read several of books by Mindy Obenhaus and I have enjoyed all of them so far. This book is the fourth book in the Hope Crossing series. It is not necessary to read the others before reading this one. There is a possible trigger in this novel for some. The female main character, Jillian McKenna, was sexually assaulted before the book starts which is mentioned toward the beginning of the novel but not in detail. The author did a good job of treating this situation with respect and care. The male main character, Gabriel Vaughn, is her next door neighbor and someone she would hangout with when visiting her grandmother before moving she moved beside him. The interactions between these two are so sweet. This book is so well written and you may require tissues at times.

Review of “Against the Wind” by Amanda Cabot

This is the second novel in the Secrets of Sweetwater Crossing series. It is not necessary to read the first book to read this one but it would make it more enjoyable if you do. The two main characters are Louisa Vaughn and Josh Porter. She has come back to town originally to bring the mom of her friend but stays to take care of Josh. This book has so much heart and humanity throughout. There are several good life lessons that can be learned by reading this book. You will learn the lesson of not treating others as they treat you meaning being nice to them in spite of their meanness. Forgiveness and love are woven throughout this novel. I enjoyed reading every page.
